Announcing the 2019 Vision Box Scholarship Recipients

ABC Visions, Inc. is pleased to announce that its 2019 Vision Box Scholarship recipients are Aprie’La Warren, James Williams Jr., and Kayrisma Harrison. Each scholarship recipient was selected based on their demonstrated leadership, merit, community and school involvement, character, and the will to prepare for a career as a valuable and informed citizen with the intention of giving back to their hometown community. The three scholars will receive $1,000 to purchase books during their freshman year.

Recently, the recipients and their parents were recognized at a dinner at The Hen & The Hog in Halifax. Past scholars Destiny Robinson and Star-Asia Smith-Walley were present to pass the torch and support the new Vision Box Scholars. Cornell Watson of Cornell Watson Photography was also in attendance and captured moments from the day.

There were a record number of submissions this year from highly talented students with amazing visions for their communities. Selections were made based on a blind review of essays and applications and scored on a rubric outlining scholarship criteria. The three 2019 Vision Box Scholarship recipients that were selected stood out exceptionally.  We are expecting that they will continue to blaze a path at their respective universities this year. Congratulations!
